The visit of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City to the National Economics University

From October 20 – 23, the delegation of officials and lecturers of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) visited and exchanged working experiences with the National Economics University (NEU), Hanoi. The visit aimed to concretize the cooperation agreement, maintain and develop a good traditional relationship between the two leading schools in the fields of economics, management and business administration in Vietnam.

Over the past 45 years, the relationship between University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and the National Economics University has always been maintained and strongly developed through many programs, academic exchange, sharing of teaching experiences, scientific research and management, etc. promoted and deployed annually. Therefore, the visit of the UEH delegation to NEU from October 20 – 23 was a very meaningful traditional activity.

Visiting and working at the National Economics University, on behalf of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, there were Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – President of UEH; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao – Vice President of UEH; Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Trang – Vice Head of UEH College of Business; Dr. Thai Kim Phung – Vice Head of UEH College of Technology and Design. On the side of the National Economics University, there were Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Duc Tho – Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the School Council; and Prof.Dr. Pham Hong Chuong – Rector; Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – Vice Rector; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu – Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Dong – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the school’s Union; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Chairman of the Advisory Council, former Chairman of the School Council; Prof. Dr. Luong Xuan Quy – Former Rector; Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dinh Huong – Former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture, Education, Sports, Youth and Youth, former Rector; Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Duc Cat – Former Secretary of the Party Committee; Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Do – Former Party Secretary, former Vice Rector. together with representatives of leaders of member schools, leaders of departments, faculties, institutes, centers, members of committees and officials and lecturers of the two units.

On behalf of the UEH delegation of officials and lecturers, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – President of UEH – sent his thanks for the warm feelings and enthusiastic and thoughtful welcome of the NEU pedagogical team to UEH. Reviewing the traditional and close relationship between the two schools over the past 45 years, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh affirmed: “The special relationship between University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and the National Economics University were built and nurtured by previous generations many decades ago and has been maintained and cherished by the current generation of leaders. In particular, in the last 10 years, the cooperation between the two sides has become more comprehensive and deeper into many professional activities. I believe that the relationship between UEH and NEU will be continued for many generations, especially for the young generations in the future to develop together steadily.”

Besides, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh also referred to the development from the internal capacity accumulated over nearly 50 years of establishment and development of the School, on the basis of using internal resources reasonably, in parallel with building strong cooperative relationships with domestic and international partners.

On behalf of the leaders of the National Economics University, Prof.Dr. Pham Hong Chuong warmly welcomed the delegation of UEH officials and employees to visit and work. At the same time, he congratulated UEH on the achievement of officially transforming into a University and affirmed that it was a big step demonstrating the stature, role and position of UEH on the journey of integration into the advanced university system in the world.

“NEU and UEH are brothers who are always close, standing side by side, experiencing many ups and downs, supporting each other to overcome difficulties and develop together sustainably. The cooperative relationship between the two schools has now reached new heights, going deeper into many professional activities, and expanding to faculties, institutes, departments and divisions. I believe that through the exchanges that have been maintained for many years between NEU and UEH, we will bring a lot of useful knowledge and experience to both units to jointly improve the quality of training, the position of both schools is worth being the leading universities in the two regions of the country” – Prof. Pham Hong Chuong affirmed.

Also at the discussion, UEH and NEU exchanged work experiences on the topics: exchanging experiences in establishing a University; exchanging experiences in applying technology and digital transformation in university administration for financial accounting and facilities management, scientific management and international cooperation, etc.

The visit was an activity organized annually under the cooperation agreement between NEU and UEH, in order to develop a good traditional relationship between the two leading schools in the fields of Vietnamese economics, business and management. In addition, within the framework of the program, the two schools also had many exchange activities and visits to some scenic spots in Hanoi and neighboring provinces.

With practical efforts and activities, the cooperative relationship of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and the National Economics University will develop strongly, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
