[UEH Sharing – Career Fair 2024] Workshop Series On Career Orientation And Practical Integration Skill Cultivation For Students (March 25-28)

Within the framework of the UEH SHARING – CAREER FAIR 2024 from March 25 – 28, 2024 and in parallel with activities helping candidates connect directly with employers, learn about quality job requirements, and grasp suitable career opportunities, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) organized a series of meaningful seminars and workshops with various topics to assist young human resources in cultivating necessary transferable skills to adapt well to the global labor market.

With the theme of career orientation and practical integration skill cultivation for students, from March 25-28, 2024, the seminar and workshop series organized by UEH received deep attention from many UEHers and young people in Ho Chi Minh City as the topic is close, valuable, and highly applicable.

Workshop on “Digital competencies for the success of young Gen Z”

As suggested by its name, the workshop kicking off the UEH SHARING – CAREER FAIR 2024 aimed to equip students with digital competencies and knowledge for future career opportunities. Lively discussions and opinion polls helped the speaker grasp the students’ worry about not being able to master technology and the possibility that creative human resources will be replaced by AI, etc. The sharings of Nguyen Tien Huy – General Director of the Pencil Group media and technology complex cum director of the Vietnam Heritage Brand Development Center, partly answered questions of attendees and provided useful advice for using digital technology effectively. Thereby, Gen Z students will be more confident in accepting technologies and prospects to develop themselves in the field they are pursuing.

Workshop on “AI application trends in Business – What do students need to do to adapt to the AI era?”

Continuing the series was the workshop “AI application trends in business – What students need to do to adapt to the AI era” held with the interesting moderation of Dr. Dang Tri Dung – Program Director of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technology, UEH College of Technology and Design.

Thereby, students were equipped with a lot of useful knowledge about AI application trends in professional fields, and useful AI tools for work. The speaker also emphasized the necessary skills students need in the AI era such as critical thinking skills, and above all, methods for them to apply to solve real-life problems.

Workshop on “Goal management and sustainable personal financial planning”

Goal and Personal Finance Management skills are a relatively popular concept in developed markets, helping workers position themselves at each stage in life and manage personal finances effectively and limit risks. Therefore, the workshop on “Goal Management and Sustainable Personal Financial Planning” on March 26, 2024 provided participants with the necessary knowledge to set goals and manage finances effectively. Accompanying the UEH SHARING – CAREER FAIR 2024, Mr. Do Nam Hung – Regional Director of VPBank’s Small and Medium Enterprise Customer Division helped attendees learn more methods for building SMART goals SEIBO career guidance models, and methods for tracking spending, budgeting, saving, and investing.

The workshop successfully provided attendees with useful knowledge in personal financial planning and career management, helping the sustainable development of each individual.

English Workshop on “How To Stand Out And Win The Job Interview”

In the competitive labor market in recent years, seizing opportunities in interviews to become a “bright spot” in the eyes of employers is always a topic of interest to students.

At the English workshop “How to stand out and win the job interview?” on the afternoon of March 28, 2024, Mr. Phan Huynh Tuan Anh – Human Resources Partner of UOB Bank – is in charge of questioning, answering, and listening skills in the interview process, thereby helping students accumulate more skills to score points in the eyes of employers. In addition, speaker Tuan Anh also shared real-life situations and invited students to participate in interview practice to help students better understand the recruitment and interview process in businesses. The workshop has contributed a valuable asset to students in their journey to conquer employers and achieve their dream jobs.
