University Of Economics Ho Chi Minh City Cooperated With Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee To Train High-Quality Economic Human Resources

On the afternoon of March 22, 2023, at the headquarters of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, the University of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding to train high-quality economic, human resources to meet the socio-economic development needs of Dong Nai province in the upcoming period.
Attending the signing ceremony from the UEH side, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – President; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Van Binh – Deputy Director of the Graduate School; Mr. Tran Anh Thanh Son – Deputy Chief of the University Office.
On the side of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, there was the attendance of: Mr. Ho Thanh Son – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Son Hung – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Dang Minh Nguyet – Commissioner of the Central Committee, Head of the Department of the Provincial Party Committee Organization and the presence of leaders of departments and agencies: Home Affairs; Finance; Information and Communication; Education and Training; Planning and Investment; Science and Technology, Management Boards of Provincial Industrial Parks, Dong Nai University, Office of Provincial People’s Committee, and news agencies and radio stations attended and reported.
Overview of the signing ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Son Hung – Provincial Member, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee, shared: “The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Dong Nai People’s Committee and University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City is to promote the strengths in the expertise of each side, enhance cooperation and development opportunities between the university and the local government, community and society, thereby enhancing the cooperation between the university and the local government in human resource training, including comrades who are managers to pioneer in management and economics, to meet the needs of socio-economic development of Dong Nai province in the upcoming time. I hope that, right after this cooperation signing ceremony, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province and UEH will establish a joint working group, develop a plan to immediately implement the contents with a long-term strategic vision, and coordinate to achieve the highest efficiency for the signed contents, annually evaluate the implementation situation and agree on a specific plan for the next period. The two sides agreed to cooperate from the viewpoint of support and comprehensive coordination to promote each side’s potential and advantages, under the motto of mutual benefit and serving the common development.” In addition to important areas, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Son Hung also wished that the two sides would be interested in science, technology and digital transformation.
Sharing about the responsibility of UEH, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – President of UEH emphasized: “Over the journey in nearly 48 years, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has become a key university of the country and a center for research, consulting in science, economics, finance, business, law, management, technology, etc. to serve various activities for the development of the country. Currently, the University is restructuring to become a multi-disciplinary university. In the process of development with social responsibility, the University always focuses on strengthening comprehensive and long-term cooperative relationships with localities, state agencies, and organizations with the desire to make practical and effective contributions to the development of the locality and the region through training activities, scientific research, technology transfer, consulting, and policy criticism. With the 2020 – 2025 socio-economic development strategy and a vision for 2030, Dong Nai strives to become a center for regional integration and development of the South’s three economic axes: Southeast, Southwest, and Coastal economic regions. In order to promote total effort in all aspects, the Provincial Party Committee and the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province have strengthened cooperation with universities in the region in training, scientific research, consulting, and technology transfer. In that context, today, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City is very pleased to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee. We hope that the close-knit relationship through this memorandum of understanding will reap many good results and successes in the future.”
After the discussion and exchange time, Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee and UEH agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the following contents:
- Fostering, updating, and improving knowledge for cadres, civil servants, and public employees according to the needs of the province and for officials at the Party Committee, provincial and district levels;
- Post-graduate training for cadres, civil servants, and public employees according to the needs of the Province;
- Policy consulting according to the needs of the Province;
- Carrying out research projects on socio-economic development, and business development,… requested by the province.
Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee and UEH agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding
This event was a milestone marking the cooperation relationship that brings practical results, contributing to the socio-economic development of Dong Nai province in particular and the whole country in general, and at the same time, raising the academic prestige and social responsibility towards sustainable development of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.
