Signing Ceremony Of The Cooperation Agreement Between UEH And People’s Committee Of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province

On the afternoon of September 15th, 2022, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province (BR-VT) officially signed a cooperation agreement for the 2022 – 2025 period. This cooperation aims to maximize the potential, existing advantages, and resources of BR-VT Province and UEH, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.

Attending the signing ceremony from the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau, there were: Mr. Tran Van Tho – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Tran Van Tuan – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People”s Committee; with the leaders of Departments and Branches of the Province.

On the UEH side, there were: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of UEH University Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – UEH President; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai – Vice Rector of UEH College of Economics, Law and Government; Assoc. Dr. Tu Van Binh – Vice Dean of School of UEH Graduate; Mr. Tran Anh Thanh Son – Interim Head of Department, UEH Administration Department.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong – Chairman of UEH University Council – emphasized: “As a national key University, with nearly 47 years of history and restructuring to become a multidisciplinary university, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has always recognized the responsibility to contribute to the development of localities, in particular, carrying out its mission to train high-quality human resources for the public sector, UEH has built a methodical and scientific training program and will deploy it with training contents listed as Public Policy, Public Management, Environmental Management, Law, Urban Planning, Innovation, etc. for the Southern key economic region and others of the country. Along with training activities are research and consulting activities for regional development. Therefore, the cooperation with BR-VT province will continue to maximize the potential, advantages, and existing resources of the province and UEH, in order to develop BR-VT into a strong province in industry, seaport, tourism, and high-tech agriculture in accordance with the Resolution of the Party Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province VII, the 2020-2025 term. This is also the social responsibility of a public University that UEH always feels honored and proud to be.”

In the spirit of consensus, the two sides officially signed a cooperation agreement for the period of 2022 – 2025 with the following contents:

Cooperation to support the development of socio-economic development strategies of BR-VT Province in the medium and long term;

Cooperation in organizing seminars to comment on the BR-VT Provincial Plan for the period of 2021 – 2030, with a vision for 2050;

Cooperation in training and fostering high-quality human resources and strategic leaders to serve the socio-economic development requirements of BR-VT Province;

Cooperation in research and application of science and technology.

It is expected that the cooperation between UEH and the People’s Committee of BR-VT province will create a new and sure foundation for the two sides to promote and implement the diversity of important contents, bringing practical effects, and contributing to the development of the socio-economic status of BR-VT Province and raise the level of academic reputation and sustainable action of UEH in the upcoming time.
