Letter Of Intent Signing Ceremony Between College Of Business UEH And California State University, Fullerton (USA)

On June 8, 2023, College of Business UEH (COB) and California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) had a Letter of Intent (LOI) signing ceremony on cooperation and association. between the two universities contributes to enhancing mutual understanding, friendship, and good relations between the people of the United States and Vietnam.

Attending the signing ceremony, in terms of UEH, there was the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Trang – Associate Rector; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Quang Huy – Deputy Head of Undergraduate Training; Dr. Tran Anh Hoa – Dean of School of Accounting; Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Bao An – Vice Dean of School of Accounting; with Heads/Deputy Heads of Departments and Program Directors of the School of Accounting.

For California State University, Fullerton: President, Fram Virjee; Executive in Residence, Julie Virjee; Chief of Staff, Danielle Garcia; Dean of Extension and International Programs, Debra Leahy; Dean of the College of Business and Economics (CBE-CSUF), Sri Sundaram; Chair of the Board of Governors Philanthropic Foundation, Tam Nguyen and Professor, Brandon Tran.

Opening the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Trang shared how grateful they are for the collaborative effort between both parties: “Recognizing the shared values and aspirations of our institutions, we have come together today to forge a partnership founded on the principles of mutual benefit and collaboration. By joining our interests, we seek to create a platform that will facilitate the exchange of knowledge, research, and educational opportunities between our faculty, students, and staff. Through this partnership, we aim to foster cultural understanding and global perspectives, enabling our students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. By engaging in collaborative research projects, joint academic programs, and faculty exchanges, we can harness the collective expertise of our institutions to address pressing global challenges, drive innovation, and nurture the next generation of leaders.”

Representative of California State University, Fullerton President, Fram Virjee stated: “CSUF goal is to build a better world. we want them to be global citizens. We want them to be leaders, servant leaders, to serve their communities, to serve their country, to serve the world. We believe that if we can bring people together, we together can make a better world. And there is no place more exciting to do that than in Vietnam with COB.”

According to Mr. Sundaram, Dean of the School of Business and Economics (CBE-CSUF) has an overarching curriculum system and strives to provide the best student experience. CSUF in general and CEB-CSUF is a driving force for regional economic development because of the size and quality of students it provides to the labor market each year. The cooperation with COB-UEH will help students from both sides have many opportunities to learn from each other, thereby creating positive effects for economic growth and diplomacy between the two countries.

After a friendly discussion, College of Business UEH and California State University, Fullerton officially signed a Letter of Intent with the following contents:

1. To actively promote cooperation between the two parties, which will lay a sound foundation for more extensive cooperation in areas such as but not limited to; the exchange of faculty members and researchers, exchange of students, joint research, lectures, talk and symposiums.

2. To seek close contacts and collaborate on using the resources of the two parties to pursue education and training opportunities of mutual interest;

This new agreement will help create a solid foundation for COB and its partners to strengthen their relationship and connect stronger and more effectively, creating a connection between Vietnam and the US.
