From a sketch…

Every journey begins with a first stroke. As UEH approaches its 50th founding anniversary, the architectural plans for Heritage Hall A.116 were drawn not only from the lines of a renovation project, but also from the aspiration to preserve and carry forward the values nurtured over half a century.

Sketch Hội Trường

On that sketch, the rows of seats remained as blank spaces waiting to be filled.

From that wish, the “Book a Seat – Send a Thousand Legacies to the Future” program was launched as an invitation for the UEH community to complete the drawing with their own names, their memories, and their love for UEH. (View program details here)

…to the colors of gratitude, dedication, and ONE UEH Love

Over 20 days, each blank space on the sketch was gradually filled with names, stories, and the many colors of the UEH community.

There was the color of gratitude, as alumna Tang Hien Kien extended her heartfelt thanks to the faculty who had guided her with dedication, and left a message for future generations to always keep their passion alive on the learning journey. Or as former staff member Ho Ngoc Phuong left these words: “As the years go by, what remains is not only the footprints we have left, but the values we have passed on.”

There was the color of belonging and dedication, through the affection of former staff member Nguyen Thanh Hoi, who has always seen UEH as “a home, a memory, a part of life,” and through the journey of Pham Thi Ly, an alumna and UEH lecturer who walked the path from a K25 student to a faculty member, with the wish that UEH will forever be a place that gives wings to the dreams of many generations.

And there was the color of ONE UEH love looking toward the future, as alumnus Vong Cam Thach sent words of encouragement to the UEHers who will carry the torch forward, while alumnus Phan Tan Dat saw each seat as “a seed of knowledge and hope” sown for the generations to come.

518 seats, 518 different stories, yet all meeting at the same point: a love for UEH and the wish that the values of today will continue to be passed on to tomorrow.
