# The Glo-cal class “Risk Management in Financial Leasing Projects” is delivered as part of the Investment Project Management course for postgraduate students in the first semester of 2026, under the School of Banking, UEH College of Business.

As part of the first semester of 2026 postgraduate program, students from the School of Banking had the opportunity to connect professional knowledge with practical career experience through the course “Investment Project Management” under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Hai Yen – Dean of the School of Banking, UEH College of Business.

The Glo-cal class “Risk Management in Financial Leasing Projects”, delivered as part of the course, has helped students enhance their analytical and decision-making capabilities in the finance and banking sector.  Joining the class was Expert Nguyen Chi Trung – General Director of Sacombank – SBL, with many years of experience in finance and corporate management. Through the expert’s sharing, risk management is no longer simply a matter of having a solid theoretical foundation, but also requires the ability to identify, assess, and address risks arising during project implementation.

Risk Management in Financial Leasing Projects from a Practical Perspective

Financial leasing is a form of credit provision associated with a company’s investment activities and assets. In the process of providing financial leasing services, financial institutions face various factors that may affect the efficiency and capital recovery capacity of projects. Therefore, risk identification and management have become important components in the assessment and implementation of financial leasing projects.

Through the class, postgraduate students gained exposure to practical issues surrounding the risks that banks and financial institutions may encounter when providing financial leasing services for corporate investment projects.

Rather than approaching the issue solely from a theoretical framework, the content shared in the class helped learners gain a clearer understanding of how risks are identified and assessed in practice, as well as the factors that need to be considered when making project-related decisions.

Identifying Risks through Practical Management Tools: Turning Professional Experience into Learning Materials

One of the key topics of the class was how to approach and address risks arising during project implementation. In addition to knowledge of problem identification, learners broadened their management perspectives by exploring appropriate tools, methods, and approaches to risk control. This helps ensure the effective use of capital and minimize potential losses during project implementation.

With professional experience across various fields, students proactively raised questions and shared issues arising from their work experience. Their questions generated multidimensional discussions connecting classroom knowledge with situations that may arise in real-world working environments.

50+ Inspirational Glo-cal Classes Connecting Knowledge with Professional Practice

As one of 22 key activities celebrating UEH’s 50th anniversary, the 50+ Inspirational Glo-cal Classes Series is implemented to expand learning spaces and connect learners with experts, businesses, and practical market needs.

Pursuing the Glo-cal Education orientation, UEH places learners at the center of the educational process, connecting global knowledge (Global) with local contexts and practical market needs (Local).

The Glo-cal class “Risk Management in Financial Leasing Projects” provided postgraduate students with an opportunity to examine financial issues through the actual operations of businesses and financial institutions. 50+ Inspirational Glo-cal Classes

As one of 22 key activities marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment and development of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), the 50+ Inspirational Glo-cal Classes Program has attracted nearly 700 experts, including leaders, managers, and professionals from government organizations and businesses, to participate as Practical Lecturers.

Unlike the previously individual-based approach, the program is implemented to establish a long-term, coordinated connection between the University and Practical Lecturers on a regular basis each academic semester (2-3 times per year). This serves as a foundation for UEH to develop long-term practical training partnerships in the future.

Practical Lecturers will accompany classes through various formats, enhancing connectivity and ensuring flexibility and active participation for both experts and learners.

Half a century has passed. From a knowledge book carrying the mission of national development in 1976, UEH has grown into a leading university in the Asian region today. It is a journey shaped by 8 heritage values that constitute UEH’s internal strength, preserved and transformed across generations of UEHers. From Unity – Compassion, which laid the foundation in the early years; to Dedication – Community – Pioneering, which shaped today’s character and position; and Creation – Sustainability – Internationalization, which opens up a vision for the future.

The 8 values crystallize into internal heritage strengths, connecting the past, present, and aspirations, and continuing to guide UEH in co-creating the future.

Join us in looking forward to UEH’s 50th Anniversary Celebration:
