In 2025, UEH facilitated access to university facilities, innovation spaces and technological infrastructure for local enterprises and start-up projects, including initiatives relevant to agriculture and food production. This support aimed to help community innovators develop products, test new solutions and advance more sustainable production practices. Access to facilities was documented for supported projects; the total number of projects should not be equated with the number of local farmers or food producers directly served.

Through UEH Mekong, the Mekong Delta Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MCIE) and the UEH Institute of Innovation (UII), the university offered meeting rooms, workshops, co-working facilities, incubation space and technology-networking opportunities. These facilities enabled local partners, producer-related businesses and emerging ventures to exchange knowledge and develop practical solutions.

Examples in 2025 included specialised events at UEH Mekong, free UII incubation support and access to workspaces for projects in sustainable agriculture, food technologies and materials. UEH’s product-showcase channels also introduced products from selected community enterprises. The facilities and services provided a route for agricultural and food-related initiatives to access university resources, subject to the eligibility and scope of each programme.

These activities demonstrate UEH’s provision of infrastructure and space to support the development of solutions related to food and agriculture. These projects are recognized as supplementary evidence of technology and innovation; they are not counted as part of the number of local farmers or agricultural businesses until their eligibility has been confirmed.

UEH Community Shop – An online platform for food manufacturers to use as a channel for introducing and selling their products. Free of charge for projects incubated and connected with UEH, including food processing and agricultural product manufacturers. Besides incubation and co-working spaces, UEH maintains the UEH Community Shop platform and the INNO SHOP catalog to support the promotion and introduction of products for startups within the innovation ecosystem.

Food production and processing businesses such as HAPINUT and YoBite have been introduced by UEH as examples of companies that have accessed this platform to promote their products to the student community, faculty, and customers. The platform helps manufacturers expand their product introduction capabilities, access markets, and develop their business operations.

The role of UEH infrastructure in supporting the development of sustainable agriculture and food solutions.

Providing incubation spaces, co-working spaces, and innovation support services by 2025 facilitated access to UEH’s resources for projects related to agriculture, food, and agricultural by-products to research, develop, and refine solutions. Cases like Nong Loc, FoodSave VN, Wisebite, and BioWraps demonstrate the ability to support initiatives that reduce food waste, improve resource efficiency, and develop sustainable products within the university’s startup ecosystem.

Conclude

In 2025, UEH continued to provide innovation infrastructure and resources through UEH Mekong, MCIE, UII, and product showcase platforms. This contributed to facilitating access to workspaces, professional exchange, product development, and market connections for businesses, startups, and manufacturing units.

Outstanding results in 2025 were recorded at the UII system with 47 projects under support program groups, 606 free use of meeting rooms and spaces, totaling 3,976 hours and 23 minutes according to unit statistics. These included initiatives related to agriculture, food, and sustainable materials such as Nong Loc, FoodSave VN, Wisebite, and BioWraps. At UEH Mekong, the auditorium and technology space system continued to serve specialized seminars on agricultural trade, smart agriculture, and local business networking.

Compared to 2024, when UEH developed activities to support the introduction of agricultural and food products through Community Shops and business networking spaces, 2025 saw further expansion of activities utilizing incubation spaces, supporting startup projects, and organizing technology presentation sessions. These programs contribute to supporting producers and groups developing solutions related to agriculture and food in accessing innovation resources, enhancing product development capabilities, and connecting with markets.

By maintaining open facilities and developing innovation support programs, UEH continues to contribute to supporting initiatives in responsible food production, processing, and resource utilization, aiming towards SDG 2 – Zero Hunger.
