1. Policy Description

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has implemented institutional policies that emphasize the conservation, restoration, and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems within and around the university premises.

These commitments are institutionalized and integrated into mandatory operational regulations through the Green University Regulation (Decision No. 2059/QĐ-ĐHKT-CSVC), serving as a formal framework for UEH’s contribution to sustainable land management and biodiversity preservation.

2. Core Content of the Policy (Implementation of Regulation No. 2059)

UEH’s policy framework is concretely reflected in the following binding clauses:

On conservation and sustainable use:

+ Article 5, Clause 6 mandates that all UEH members shall “protect and care for trees and green areas within university campuses.”

+ Furthermore, Article 5, Clause 7 encourages the increase of greenery within workplaces—such as “adding plants to desks and office areas”—to promote urban greening, ecosystem expansion, and the sustainable use of land resources.

On restoration:

+ Article 14, Clause 3 supports ecosystem restoration by requiring all units to “organize movements and campaigns for waste collection in public areas, combined with awareness-raising activities.”

+ This clause directly contributes to soil ecosystem restoration, pollution reduction, and community engagement in environmental protection.
