Entering 2024, the programs were implemented in a diverse, free, and sustainable manner; expanding in scale, upgrading in quality, and innovating in implementation methods. Specifically:
Increasing outreach scale:
+ The number of programs, seminars, talk shows, and health campaigns more than doubled compared to 2023 (from ~10 to >20 activities).
+ The total number of direct and indirect beneficiaries increased sharply, reaching over 10,000 direct participants and 20,000 media impressions.
+ The implementation scope expanded from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta (UEH Mekong), spreading the model of a university serving the local community..
Enhancing quality and professionalism:
+ Implementation of the “Comprehensive Learner Care Companion” model, integrating medical, insurance, psychological, and career support on a single platform.
+ Improved infrastructure for the disadvantaged, achieving 100% of UEH facilities having accessible pathways and signage for people with disabilities, enhanced learning support, specialized equipment, and scholarships.
+ Expanded health check-up, eye screening, insurance, and financial consultation programs for staff, lecturers, and their families, ensuring internal welfare.
Innovating outreach methods:
+ Executed a series of E-news, talk shows, and communication campaigns on life skills, mental health, gender equality, and violence prevention, targeting Gen Z.
+ Combined applied research with social policy training, expanding support scope to businesses and the economic community.
Key differentiators in 2024:
+ Shifted from fragmented support to the “University of Happiness” model, caring for the health, mental well-being, and social needs of the entire UEH community.
+ Strengthened elements of inclusion and diversity (D&I) in all programs, especially for vulnerable groups.
+ Integrated policy research into practice, creating long-term social impact instead of short-term activities.
Thanks to these innovations, in 2024, UEH not only increased the scale of its activities but also elevated the quality and depth of its impact, expanding from a “school serving students” to a “university serving the community.” These results clearly demonstrate the effectiveness and sustainability in organizing programs that help the community access basic services.
