The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) demonstrates a strong commitment to spreading SDG education to a broader community beyond regular students, including alumni, local residents and vulnerable communities. UEH’s programmes do not stop within the campus but extend to society, contributing to increased awareness, skills and capacity for action toward sustainable development.
+ For alumni: UEH implements numerous networking activities, supplementary training in leadership, entrepreneurship, management, and disseminates the UEH Green Campus model to alumni and corporate networks. CEO training, corporate‑leader programmes, and local‑government manager courses all involve active alumni participation.
+ For the local community: UEH regularly organises STEM training programmes, circular‑economy seminars, ArtTech Fusion events, the SEED project, English‑education workshops, short‑term training for individuals/businesses, and activities in Vinh Long, the Mekong, etc., directly bringing new knowledge to residents, teachers, students and local enterprises.
+ For displaced People and refugees: Many UEH programmes are carried out in the Mekong Delta and other areas affected by climate change, salinisation and internal migration, providing support to vulnerable groups. In addition, free courses, MOOCs and the “Sustainable University” podcast broaden access to knowledge for all community members regardless of origin.

Compared with 2023, UEH has gradually evolved from a pioneering university in sustainability education on campus to an action‑oriented university that leads the community in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2023, UEH focused mainly on raising awareness, knowledge transfer, and building a foundation of understanding about sustainable development through international academic projects (EU4Sustainability), STEM training programmes, and a series of knowledge‑sharing podcasts. In 2024, UEH expanded its sphere of impact, diversified beneficiaries (from students, teachers, and experts to alumni, local communities, and vulnerable groups), and established sustainable partnership models with NGOs, businesses, and local authorities.
This shift reflects a transition from “sustainable knowledge education” to a “sustainable‑action ecosystem,” in which UEH is not only a place of teaching but also a hub that connects knowledge, practice, and social responsibility. Consequently, UEH has affirmed its role as a multidisciplinary university with academic capacity and practical influence in realising the SDGs in Vietnam.
