With its Multidisciplinary & Sustainable University strategy, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) proactively initiates and joins inter‑sectoral dialogues on sustainable development, seeking to connect government, business, civil‑society organisations, the academic community and society at large. These activities take many forms: international scientific conferences, policy forums, multi‑stakeholder round‑tables, exhibition‑exchange series, and community‑engagement events. They concentrate on core SDG themes such as:

In 2024, UEH collaborated with central ministries (Science & Technology, Finance, Natural Resources & Environment), local authorities (Dong Thap, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City…), international organisations (World Bank, Regensburg University, Khon Kaen University, J‑ACBES, ELG, SSEAYP, ASEAN), as well as NGOs and research institutes to create multidimensional forums. Through these platforms UEH not only acted as a knowledge‑policy‑community bridge but also delivered concrete policy recommendations, practical models, and cross‑disciplinary partnerships that advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

UEH’s activities have contributed to:

 National, International 8, 9, 13 Proposing policies to promote green capital in Vietnam

 

Compared with 2023, the interdisciplinary dialogue activities on sustainable development at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in 2024 recorded a remarkable leap in quantity, scale, and content quality.

In 2023, UEH mainly participated in or co‑organized isolated workshops and forums on topics such as green economy, circular economy, local development, and regional international cooperation. By 2024, UEH stepped up to a proactive role, initiating, coordinating, and linking multiple stakeholders – from the government, local authorities, and businesses to NGOs and the academic community. The number of interdisciplinary forums, workshops, and round‑tables doubled; the scope of topics expanded and directly aligned with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17); meanwhile, the format of the events was refreshed, integrating exhibitions, community exchanges, and policy forums.

The year 2024 also marked a clear upgrade in the impact and diffusion of policies. Many UEH activities went beyond academic sharing and made concrete contributions to public policy formulation, promoted sustainable entrepreneurship, and broadened the international cooperation network – reinforcing UEH’s pioneering position in interdisciplinary dialogue on sustainable development in Vietnam.
