1. Community Outreach Program Description
The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has proactively implemented the “Educational Program on Sustainable Agricultural Land Management.”
This free program is designed to provide educational and communication activities for local and national communities on sustainable methods of agricultural land management.
2. Core Content and Target Audience
Content: The program focuses on delivering knowledge and transferring models of sustainable agricultural land management. Activities include workshops and training sessions on topics such as smart farming, circular economy in agriculture, soil resource conservation, and efficient irrigation practices—particularly in areas affected by climate change such as the Mekong Delta.
Target Audience: Local communities (including farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and agribusinesses) as well as the broader national community.
3. Internal Commitment and Supporting Policies (Pilot Addition to Regulation 2059)
To institutionalize and ensure the sustainability of these activities, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has piloted the inclusion of the following provisions in the UEH Green University Regulation (Decision No. 2059/QĐ-ĐHKT-CSVC):
Add Clause 12 to Article 13: A pilot policy directing specialized units (such as Vinh Long Campus and the Institute for Agricultural and Health Policy Research) to design and implement free educational and outreach programs for local or national communities on sustainable agricultural land management, the assigned units are responsible for:
+ Taking the lead in organizing educational activities, training sessions, and knowledge transfer programs for communities (farmers, cooperatives) on sustainable land management and farming practices.
+ Preparing documentation and evidence of the implemented activities (materials, photos, reports, etc.) and submitting periodic reports on implementation results to the UEH Green Campus Project Management Board.
