1. Description of Activities

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) regularly supports or organizes free events aimed at promoting awareness of land conservation and sustainable land use, including forests and wilderness areas.
These activities are implemented through specific initiatives such as:

+ Tree planting campaigns, “Tet Tree Planting Festival,” and activities to increase green spaces inside and outside the campus.

+ Workshops and scientific seminars on topics such as sustainable agricultural land use, circular economy in agriculture, and forest ecosystem conservation.

+ Community clean-up campaigns to collect waste and protect soil quality in public areas.

2. Objectives and Target Groups

+ Objectives: To raise awareness and inspire action among both the external community and UEH members (staff and students) regarding the importance of soil and forest conservation.

+ Target Groups: Local communities, students, partner organizations, and related stakeholders.

3. Internal Commitment and Supporting Policies (Promoting Implementation of Regulation No. 2059)

To strengthen the organization of these events, UEH promotes and clarifies responsibilities as stipulated in the UEH Green University Regulation (Decision No. 2059/QĐ-ĐHKT-CSVC):

+ Promoting enforcement of Article 5, Clause 6: Encourage compliance with the mandatory rule on “protection and care of green trees within campus premises.” This serves as a key policy foundation for tree planting and green conservation activities, directly contributing to on-campus land preservation.

+ Promoting enforcement of Article 24, Clause 3: Direct responsible units (such as the Marketing and Communications Department, and the Youth Union – Student Association) to actively organize campaigns and movements for waste collection in public areas (including vacant lands and parks) and integrate awareness-raising communication about soil environment conservation.

4. Evidence of Implementation

Several programs and initiatives have been carried out to demonstrate UEH’s commitment to sustainable land management and conservation.

1 National Scientific Conference: Economics, Law, Governance, and Sustainable Development under the Impact of the 2024 Land Law Academic event; Community education UEH organized a national scientific conference titled “Economics, Law, Governance, and Sustainable Development under the Impact of the 2024 Land Law” to promote awareness and action on the conservation and sustainable use of land resources. The event gathered over 120 delegates from government agencies, universities, enterprises, and research experts. It served as an academic forum to analyze key updates of the 2024 Land Law, especially those related to forest and wilderness protection, land valuation, land use rights, and smart urban development. In-depth sessions discussed the application of digital transformation and technology in land management, as well as legal challenges in terrestrial ecosystem conservation. A total of 54 peer-reviewed papers were selected and published, contributing academic foundations for implementing the new Land Law toward sustainability. Unnamed
