University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has made substantial contributions to local arts and cultural heritage through a wide array of public artistic performances conducted annually by university choirs, theatre groups, orchestras, and student clubs, etc. in a random form or as part of an ongoing program

In 2024, UEH organized 45 public art performances, reaffirming its commitment as a creative and sustainable university for community engagement, aligned with the mission of advancing Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11).
Enhancing Public Access and Cultural Participation
All performances were open to students, citizens, and local communities. Many events were held beyond the university campus, representing UEH’s strategic initiative “University for the Arts & Heritage of the City.”
Over 80% of performances were free or discounted, ensuring inclusive participation and equitable cultural access. All programmes were publicly announced with transparent registration systems and multichannel communication (website, Facebook, YouTube), upholding the principles of safety, inclusion, and gender equality

Revitalizing Local Culture and National Heritage
UEH developed multiple cultural theatre programmes that reimagined and celebrated Vietnamese intangible heritage:
+ “Dòng Cửu Long – Đêm Tinh Túy” depicted the Mekong Delta’s cultural essence.
+ “Du Nhiên – Ngọc thanh xứ Bắc” showcased Northern heritage (ca trù, quan họ, áo tứ thân).
+ “Dòng chảy hào hùng” and “Sử ký ngàn năm” dramatized national history, fostering patriotism and lifelong learning in cultural identity.
Expanding Sustainable Campus Art Spaces
+ The monthly Acoustic Show Series offered open stages for students and the public, nurturing creative learning ecosystems and youth-led cultural expression.
+ The ArtTech Fusion (ATF) programme integrated art and technology, connecting with international artists and promoting sustainable innovation in cultural production.
Arts for Community Development and Social Impact
+ UEH incorporated arts into community service and philanthropic activities, with fundraising concerts such as “Vẽ nụ cười thơ,” “Âm vang mùa hạ,” and “Guitar Show – Đan” supporting underprivileged children in Ho Chi Minh City and Vinh Long.
+ The Green Summer Campaign extended art to rural regions through eight performances, demonstrating urban-rural cultural integration and inclusive community engagement.
Promoting Equality, Inclusion, and Diversity through the Arts
+ UEH’s “Let’s Get Better – Hành trình Lục sắc” campaign celebrated the LGBTQ+ community, encouraging respect for diversity and social inclusion.
+ The Open Show “ĐẦM” and Women’s Month activities honored Vietnamese women’s heritage, promoting gender equality and empowerment through creative expression.
