The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) recognizes the UEH Youth Union and Student Association as an independent student organization operating according to a Constitution adopted and democratically elected annually by students. The University provides financial and material support while maintaining institutional independence by refraining from intervening in representative content, policy advocacy, or the Association’s support activities. The UEH Youth Union and Student Association functions as a political-social organization of UEH students, established to unite, consolidate, and enhance the role of students in academic pursuits, scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurship, volunteer service to the community, and international integration.
Nature, Mission, and Operational Mechanisms
The UEH Student Association is a student-governed organization. All activities of the UEH Student Association are organized according to principles of democracy, collectivity, and self-management, demonstrating student initiative in leadership, movement organization, and resource management. Through representative decision-making processes, the organization ensures inclusive institutions and transparency in its operations.
According to the Constitution of the Vietnam Student Association, the Association’s mission encompasses representing the legitimate and justified interests of students while organizing training, learning, dedication, and comprehensive development activities for students. This commitment to education and inclusive societies reflects alignment with broader human rights and governance principles.
The UEH Student Association maintains regular meeting schedules and organizes Congresses and Conferences in accordance with the Constitution of the Vietnam Student Association. These Congresses and Conferences serve not only as opportunities to summarize activities from the previous term and establish directions for the subsequent term, but also as occasions to recognize and honor Association officers completing their tenure and to deliberate on and strengthen the leadership of the new executive board.

The current Student Union Secretariat of UEH consists entirely of third-year and fourth-year students currently studying at UEH who assume these responsibilities. Basis and Formation Process
The UEH Student Association Ho Chi Minh City is recognized as a subordinate member organization of the Vietnam National Union of Students in Ho Chi Minh City, possessing legal personality and its own seal, and operates in accordance with the Regulations of the Vietnam National Union of Students.
Established on May 18, 1995, the UEH Student Association has, to date, completed 30 years of formation and development, confirming its status as one of the exemplary student organizations in Ho Chi Minh City and consistently maintaining its pioneering role in the citywide student movement.

The Executive Committee of the UEH Student Association for the Term 2023–2025 comprises 27 members, within which 9 members constitute the Secretariat, with all members being students currently pursuing their studies at UEH. The UEH Student Association manages 15 Faculty/Institute/Inter-Institute/Dormitory Student Union Branches, 13 Clubs/Teams/Groups at the UEH level, and 15 Clubs/Teams/Groups at the faculty level operating as directly subordinate units..
These units operate across numerous domains of student engagement including academics, skill development, artistic expression, athletics, volunteer service, communications, and entrepreneurship. They are core organizational forces driving the Students Association work and the student movement, contributing substantially to the creation of an environment for cultivating leadership skills, administrative capabilities, and teamwork competencies among students.
