Responding to the welcoming atmosphere of the 49th anniversary of National Unification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2024), 138th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 – May 1, 2024), 134 years since the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2024), 95 years since the founding of the Vietnam Union (July 28, 1929 – July 28, 2024), the UEH Arts Festival for Officials and Employees 2024 officially returns after 8 years of waiting with particularly impressive performances. After more than nearly 2 months of planning and implementation, the program successfully organized two competition nights at Hall A.116 on May 16 – 17, 2024 and awarded prizes for the best performances!
The program took place in an exciting atmosphere, with the participation of guest delegates: Ms. Dang Thuy Khanh Van – Head of the Propaganda Department of Party Committee of University and College of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Lam Tuong Thoai – Head of the Department of Education Staff of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Confederation; Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc – Head of the Southern Representative Office of Vietnam Education Union.
On behalf of UEH side, there was the participation of Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong – Chairman of the University Council, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh – University Director, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Quang Hung – Deputy Director of the University, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet – Chairwoman of the UEH Policy and Strategy Advisory Council, Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy – Chairman of UEH Union; Dr. Phan Thi Bao Quyen – Vice President of UEH Union; Leaders of UEH units along with all candidates, lecturers, officials, employees, and students.
Overview of the program
Speaking at the opening of the Festival, Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy remarked: “Cultural and artistic activities attract a large number of teachers, administrators and staff from the whole school. After eight years since 2016, the UEH Union officially brought back the UEH Arts Festival for Officials and Employees, which will be held for 2 nights on May 16 and 17, 2024 with 4 competition programs, 41 performances, and more than 450 actors from 34 unions. With diversity and richness in themes, careful preparation and immense investment from units, the UEH Arts Festival for Officials and Employees 2024 will bring a monumental and meaningful artistic performance.”

The show received a warm welcome from the Union units with elaborate and emotional performances revolving around the themes of praising the Party and beloved Uncle Ho, praising the homeland, country and national tradition, and praising the work, study and life at UEH. With the goal of creating a healthy playground, meeting the needs of cultural enjoyment in an educational environment, the Festival has successfully connected all officials and employees with the spirit of “Solidarity – Creativity – Friendship – Safety”.

To select the best programs and performances, the Jury Council includes musicians who are members of the Vietnam Musicians Association with high professional capacity in art and are trusted by the Organizing Committee, including musicians Le Quoc Thang, Truong Quang Tuyen, and Tran Anh Thanh Son. Over 2 nights of competition on May 16-17, 2024, the best performances were fairly selected by the jury and honored to receive awards from the program. In particular, with elaborate staging and rehearsals and meticulous and colorful performances praising President Ho Chi Minh on the 134th anniversary of his birthday, the song and dance performance Vang sang Ho Chi Minh performed by the ISB Union won the award for the best performance singing to celebrate Uncle Ho.

A truly explosive show night resulted from the tireless preparation efforts of the participating units in general, as well as the enthusiastic encouragement of all officials and workers at UEH in particular. Hall A.116 truly had exciting moments of cultural and spiritual exchange, a source of spiritual encouragement, and conveyed positive values in studies and works at the school.
The UEH Arts Festival for Officials and Employees 2024 took place successfully with the excitement and joy of union units, officials and employees at UEH. The event has brought a healthy and rewarding artistic playground, inspiring each individual at UEH to actively practice and promote the role of aesthetic and creative education in the union, thereby, connecting UEHers, together building a pioneering community of artistic inspiration and sustainable action.
