University Of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) Exchanging Working Experiences And Signing A Cooperation Agreement On Student Exchange With National Economics University (NEU)

Continuing the tradition of attachment – affection of the two leading universities in the fields of economics, management, and business administration in Vietnam, on August 5th, 2022, the delegation of officials and lecturers of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) visited and exchanged working experiences at National Economics University (NEU). At the same time, within the framework of the trip, UEH signed a cooperation agreement on student exchange with NEU in order to concretize the agreement to cooperate, maintain and develop the good traditional relationship between the two leading universities in the field of economics, management and business administration in Vietnam.

University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and National Economics University have formed a close relationship for more than 45 years and are on the way together to build, grow and develop, a large part of which is due to the care and nurturing of each other, made up of many generations of leaders of the two schools. In recent years, the cooperation relationship between UEH and NEU has developed more comprehensively, deepening into many professional activities, and expanding to institutes, departments, faculties, etc. Every year, the two universities Both have specific exchange and coordination activities, contributing to the completion of important tasks for the two units.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Council of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City – thanked the enthusiastic and thoughtful welcome of the leaders of National Economics University. Professor Nguyen Dong Phong thanked the warm affection of the pedagogical team of National Economics University for the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and affirmed that there is no university in Vietnam that has a relationship and comprehensive cooperation like the two schools at present; at the same time, hoping that the two universities will continue to strengthen exchanges and learn from each other to develop stronger together.

On behalf of NEU leaders, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong warmly welcomed the delegation of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh to visit and work at National Economics University. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong reviewed the traditional and cohesive relationship between the two universities over the past 45 years and shared that despite being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh still achieved proud achievements. Professor hopes that in the coming time, the close and cooperative relationship between NEU and UEH will develop more and more, contributing to improving the quality of training, and the position of both universities, worthy of being one of the leading universities in the two regions of the country.

Also within the framework of the trip, in order to concretize the cooperation agreement, maintain and develop the good traditional relationship between the two leading universities in the fields of economics, management, and business administration in Vietnam, on the afternoon of August 5th, 2022, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has signed a cooperation agreement on student exchange with National Economics University, aiming to create opportunities for university students of the two universities’ formal training systems to learn and experience in the diverse and multicultural environment and enhance the exchange of teaching and scientific research between the two universities.

Along with that, in each semester, the two universities will exchange in accordance with the needs of students and study conditions at the receiving university abiding by the agreed process. Students of the exchange program will study, live, and practice as scheduled in the timetable and plan of teaching, learning, assessment, and extracurricular activities programs at the receiving university, with the exchange at the receiving university for a maximum study time of 2 semesters. The two universities agree on a list of equivalent courses, with the number of credits not less than the number of credits of the respective course, and the total number of credits of the exchange program must not exceed 25% of the total number of credits in the training program of the host university. Concurrently, the two universities will have a plan to support accommodation, dormitory, and incentive scholarships for students of the exchange program.

The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement on student exchange between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and National Economics University continues to affirm the deep and sustainable development in the traditional relationship between the two universities; at the same time, it opens up new cooperation opportunities and promotes the realization of the strategies of both units in the context of deepening international integration.

The visit of UEH’s delegation to NEU is not only an opportunity for the two units to develop the good traditional relationship inherent between the two leading universities in the fields of economics, management, and business administration in Vietnam, but also an opportunity for UEH and NEU to share and absorb experiences and models in university management and administration, and continue to promote their role in training, fostering and developing high-quality human resources, making positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the country in the upcoming time.
